THIRSTY THURSDAY (1): ACCIDENTALLY SEXY

Thirsty

Thirsty Thursday is a weekly feature, hosted by Nikki & Keira @ Lazy Book Lovers, where we discuss all things swoon-worthy: from quotes, book covers, book boyfriends, and even that worth-the-wait book kiss.

Book: Only Love by Erich SegalOnly Love

Swoon Quality: Matthew asks Silvia to a bistro á vin to tell her that someone is following her only to be told that that someone is her bodyguard Nino. Embarrassed, Matthew tells her that they can rejoin their group, but she insists that they finish their wine and talk for a bit.

As we walked out of the door, I spied Nino leaning against a parking meter, “reading” a newspaper.

“By the way, Silvia. Is he coming to Eritrea with us too?”

“No, thank God. Actually, being really on my own will be a new experience for me.”

“Well, if it means anything, you can tell your father that I’ll be there to protect you.”

She seemed to really appreciate what I said. She smiled at me and, in so doing, destroyed all my autoimmune reactions to really falling in love with her.

Why: Though he’d put his foot in his mouth, Matthew let’s the incident go and talks to Silvia. It dawns on him just how different his and Silvia’s backgrounds are, and yet he doesn’t let that deter him from getting to know her. From a female point of view, a man who isn’t intimidated by a woman who is different from him is very attractive and interesting.

Don’t forget to check out Nikki’s and Keira’s picks this week here. My fellow bookworms Camille @ Girl meets Books Lorn @ Pakwanstripes are also writing down their own accidentally sexy moments.

Yay! *throws confetti* I’m glad you can join in the Thirsty Thursday fun Duch! 🙂 I actually haven’t read any from Erich Segal yet although I heard of Love Story already and even downloaded the old movie about it (but haven’t watched it yet! haha) 🙂
