THIRSTY THURSDAY (2): INNOCENTLY HOT BOOK COVER

Thirsty Thursday is a weekly feature, hosted by Nikki & Keira @ Lazy Book Lovers, where we discuss all things swoon-worthy: from quotes, book covers, book boyfriends, and even that worth-the-wait book kiss.

The theme for this week is Innocently Hot Cover, and this is my pick:

Book: Laugh (Burnsides Book 2) by Mary Ann Rivers

Swoon Quality: A cute guy smiling.

Why: Sam Burnside is the oldest of four siblings. He’s a doctor who’s working hard to put up a low-income health clinic while at the same time being a big brother to Des, PJ, and Sara. He’s also good looking as observed by the woman who captures his attention, Nina Paz:

Even when Sam was frowning, arguing, and sputtering he still looked like he should be leaning against a surfboard stuck in the sand—the sun making his strawberry hair more gold than red, his gray eyes crinkle, his skin go sleek and gilded.

Sam goes out on a date with Nina, but the date doesn’t turn out as expected. Things don’t go wrong for good looking guys, right? Wrong. Beneath the attractive exterior lies an endearing awkwardness that leads him to trust his younger brother PJ’s fashion sense, and that results in one half of a hilariously disastrous date (For the other half, better read the book to get Nina’s side.).

After reading the novel you’ll realize that there’s more to Sam Burnside than just his good looks. And that if you happen to have to have the misfortune of going out on your own hilariously disastrous date, you’d be wishing that it was Sam you were having the date with.
